I've recently started having a go at some stop motion animation and opened up a new account on youtube to accommodate them which you can find here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DrangoAnimation

At this time, there are only 3 videos on there (and they're all silent at the moment, need some sound packs):

Char's Z'Gok saying 'hello'.

Milia's VF-1J transforming.

And Werkstra practising her landing.

The camera is a little shaky, but the tripod I'm using isn't the most secure thing in the world... And there are a few mistakes here and there... But, practice makes perfect!

Hell, Plamoo didn't start out the genius at animation he is today!

Thanks! I know the Werkstra one is really jumpy at points (but that's largely because I kept knocking the camera while shooting)

I'm already looking into getting a... clicky thing... (technical term there) to attach to my camera so I don't have to touch it when I take a photo so I don't get any wobble (or at least reduce it to as little as possible while I continue using this tripod)

I'll try and get things smoother for the next one.

You mean a timer?

No, a Remote Shutter Release... I managed to find out the name for it...

Sadly, I cant seem to be able to get one for my particular model camera... or at least, I can't seem to find one that says it'll work with my camera anyway (which is a Samsung ES17 by the way) but a friend of mine has decided to help me out and is going to try and rig something together for me which will do the trick...

Camera has a built in timer, but I have to set it each time and that would result in me touching the camera far too much that I'd likely keep moving it around...

Love the Werkstra vids!!! They're so cute!! She finally got the landing right with the stand for support, eh?

For those who haven't seen it, there's already a fourth vid.

Maybe I'll try something like that when I have the time (and a better camera).

The latest video is a bit of a work in process... I'm tying to edit out the stand but well... first attempt at it looked fugly... so I'm trying it again only differently, in a way that should give me a better result, but... at the sacrifice of she won't have a shadow...

an easy way to keep the camera still is to use the timer function on your camera. If you use it with a tripod you will not have any problems.
