Hi, I'm new here. I wanted to try some stop motion so I decided to get a Shinki Valona. Its random but here is what I have done so far. I only know how to upload .gifs. If you want to download the .swf version with sound please click the link below the image.

Wow, I could never do something like that! I too recently got Valona. How do you like her?

For those with patience and concentration this can be fairly easy. I don't have much of both so I can only stick to a few seconds. I'm not really into articulated figures, in fact this is the first figure I have purchased that has articulation. For stop motion purposes Valona is awesome. I intended to use a figma at first but due to some designs their hair or clothing limit their mobility. Shinki is far superior.

You can use any camera that takes pictures. Stop motion is really a series of pictures in rapid succession. The only equipment you'd need is a camera, a tripod, and a computer to edit the pictures.

Yep, Benio pretty much nailed it. I'd like to add that using the camera's built in timer function is a definite plus combined with a tripod. For more fluid motion in a video you need to have more frames per second (each picture representing a frame). I used 24 frames per second. Having a good light source is a definite bonus. In the video below I thought the pictures looked fine on the camera display but once loaded into the computer they were very dark. Here is a good tutorial on stop motion
http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Stop-Motion-Animation. I'm still learning too!

These are pretty sweet. I've always wanted to try out stop motion before.
