I'd be more interested in hearing about this if Danny were to actually start developing some sort of AI that could pass the Turing Test, but otherwise, this really isn't anything we haven't seen before and is probably multitudes less advanced than what we've already seen in actual robot exhibitions.

I'm curious, how many of you think the robot parts are functional and not just a clever April Fools prank?

Because it's too detailed to be a prank, and if it is, he'd be an idiot not to actually develop it after designing the inner workings. He may lack firmware and AI, but that can be done after you have the animatronic doll.

A couple of days worth of computer modeling to make a robotic looking skeletal structure to fit into his vinyl doll (the custom doll being the real part of this). Use a 3D printer to make a non-functional model and throw some gunpla builder skills at it to make it look nice. Then blow smoke about programing it while casually refusing to show a video, and bam... you've got yourself a prank that's less involved and probably cheaper than his fake anime promo from whichever year he did that. He has the time and resources to fake it and nothing to provide legitimacy. But hey. Don't let logic dissuade you from believing it.

I have the will and the time, what I don't have are the resources, it sucks living in Brazil, where stuff is overpriced, you have to import everything and your coin is undervalued
I also have the skill of easily learning stuff, so no expertise in robotics (other than Gunpla, LEGO Mindstorms and a few cheap homemade battlebots when I was a kid...) is no problem.

It's quite stupid that people don't keep making new lots of stuff that sells well. It stinks of lazyness
But I'm not talking purchasing yet, I'd just like to see detaled photos
