Konami rereleasing Shinki USB Cradles (MAYBE)
Release Date: 9/5/2009*
Price: 2100 Yen
Did you miss the release of the original Shinki Cradle? Always wanted one but they were impossible to find and to expensive to grab off yahoo Japan? Contact your local Proxy service and get your preorder in, they're rereleasing it. A Konami Style only release, you can only get it through a Proxy service, but it certainly looks nice.
Please remember, it's just a prop. While you can plug it into a USB, it just lights the thing up. It wont actually charge up your Shinki.
*Note, they're only going to release it if they get 1000 preorders in by July 13. Shinkis being what they are, I dont doubt they'll hit this mark, but get your preorder in to your proxy service of choice ASAP if you want to make certain.

These are so adorable. It's sad that that's all they are - just something that lights up. Considering the price they go for on eBay I find it hard to believe that they're at that retail price but then...they're exclusive!
I wonder what Konami is up to? And if any other re-releases are down the pipeline?

It's apparently one of the items they've been asked to rerelease for quite some time. It originally came out fairly early and in small quantities, which is why the prices seem to get so jacked up.

That makes the £75 i saw one going for on e-bay make sense. Compared to that, the rerelease is quite cheap.Caterwaul wrote:It's apparently one of the items they've been asked to rerelease for quite some time. Would be cool if it doubled as a external hard drive, but I guess that would make it more expensive.

I got one about a week and a half ago (for $30, even!) and it's an amusing little thing.
Doesn't do anything aside from light up, but it still looks nice and is good for atmosphere or whatever people are saying nowadays.

Got any Shinki codes you're not going to use? Then why not throw them my way? :3

Who else thinks this could have been a great harddrive?
Its a shame that all it does is light up when you plug it in.

I dunno, with a bit of modeling and some hardware, you could make a hard drive cradle...Maybe the cradle could actually detach?

The bed itself is pretty much hollow, so I'd imagine that it would be fairly easy for someone who cared enough to be able to actually do something along those lines.
Though it'd have to be something pretty small, along the lines of one of the higher-yield USB Flash drives.
Not that I'm about to butcher mine mind you. :p
