Well, I am working on some character design for a story, and since there is a WIDE variety of people here I thought I'd ask some opinions. I am creating a catgirl character in a story of mine and I need opinions on which style of face and hair everyone prefers.
I don't know how or even if we can do polls, so I just answer A) or C) and most importantly WHY.. I will be posting this on a few other sites, so I'm excited to see what you guys think.
Also understand these are VERY rough sketches and will be polished up a LOT before completion. Just thought it would be a fun idea.
A)
B )
C)
Thanks for the input in advance.

I'd go with B just because the ears are actually recognizable as ears and not just odd hair tufts.

Thanks. Hair tufts was kinda the idea originally, it was more of a hinted at catgirl theme. Hard to go into it without story points that are not important right now.Xehn wrote:I'd go with B just because the ears are actually recognizable as ears and not just odd hair tufts.
I appreciate the feedback.

Even so, the other two don't really hint at it enough, for me. It's too subtle, which can be just as bad as not subtle enough.

Are you going for something Thundercats-like? Seems so to me.
Personally, I think the 3 versions look too different, even personality-wise.
A is a mischief maker. B is a teaser. C is considerate/thoughtful.
They all look good though. IMO pick your favourite and develop the rest into other characters.
Don't forget to share the sexy pics

Thanks for the input. And your descriptions for each are very accurate.Shiaoran wrote:Are you going for something Thundercats-like? Seems so to me.

If you want to go subtle, another commonly used way to do it is with ribbons rather than with the hair itself. That way you have more options in how you want to portray a character in more scenes. IE, hair down without ribbon for more solemn scenes, typical cat-ear behavior with ribbons on, etc.

Re: Need some creative input on a catgirl ..
Thanks for the tip. I've seen that done before and it has a good effect. This character is actually a cat-girl in a genetic sense, but didn't want to make the connection too blunt. I think I found a happy medium and am working on some character sketches. I will post up more when I finish some.Stanisburgh wrote:If you want to go subtle, another commonly used way to do it is with ribbons rather than with the hair itself.
