Moon Angel fandub?

I'm attempting to produce a fandub of the Busou Shinki: Moon Angel anime.

(To calm the moderators: I'm not about to ask if anyone will give me a link to download the footage or music, nor I am going to link to anything on YouTube)

As of yet, I do not need any voice actors, as I and some of my close friends are doing it together "for funsies" (we are all passionate actors). What I am looking for is some help Americanizing something: Tsubasa's name. I honestly can't take that name seriously alongside "Ken," particularly because it sounds too much to me like "Mufasa." I know that "Tsubasa" means "wing(s)" in Japanese, but I've yet to find any English names with the same meaning. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could rename the character? Furthermore, will I receive death threats for even considering such a thing?

Thanks!

You're right about the death threats. Americanizing = death row ;)

If it helps with the original name, emphasise an accent on the first syllable. SUbasa.

Anyways, most of the time if a dub's gonna change a name (for whatever reason) they just change it to something that roughly matches the lip movements. If you get something that vaguely matches the original intent, extra bonus. I wouldnt worry about matching the name to much cause of that.

But yeah, expect to be torn a new one from purists.

Nah, I've decided to let him keep his Japanese name.

I like my life.

Tsubasa ---> Wing.

From Translate.Google.com, i prefer Croatian: Krilo.

Krilo, sounds cool for a boy's name.
