The same paints should work. You should definitely use a sealer of some sort though as the plastic used for the hair can be bendy and that can help keep it from flaking.

I plan to repaint a MMS3 chestplate for my Vervietta in her colours. Any recommendations for paint brands or kinds? I've got some Mr Super Clear Gloss and Matte for sealents.

Tamiya or Mr. Color acrylics are probably the two most-commonly used paints; Testors also makes a wonderful selection and are popular and common among American hobbyists and hobby stores, but they're mostly enamels, which aren't water-soluble.
