Decided to chime in because I'm awesome and all that...

Arnval:
From Fumikane's notes, they were going for something what evoked "angel" and "valkyrie." Yay added meanings on top of "aanval"...

Howling:
「吼凛」 "Howling cold" Also sound out the English word "Howling."

Benio:
「紅い鼻緒」 "red sandal strap " -> 「紅緒」 "Benio"

Tsugaru:
Beatmania character, whose name in turn probably comes from the western part of Aomori Prefecture. 「津軽」

Zyrdarya:
suburb of Paris?
There's a tea called "gilda"「ジルダ」, maybe that's it?

Juvisy:
Site in France

Grapprap:
Grapple + Lap(Machining term)

Yda:
Idaten 「韋駄天」 (Y + da + ten -> YDA-10)

Asuka:
The kanji 「飛鳥」 is "Flying bird," also a possible reference to Asuka Shrine on account of her being a miko and all.

Lancamento:
Portuguese "lançamento"

Espadia:
Spanish/Portuguese "Espada"

Arnval Tranche2:
French "tranche"

Werkstra:
Dutch for "Maid"

Valona:
Russian for "Crow"
Got any Shinki codes you're not going to use? Then why not throw them my way? :3

Originally would be "werkster" - maid or housekeeper. The only other word i can think of that resembles it would be "werkstraf" - punitive labour :fubuki:

Xerain wrote:Ach
Ach's full name is Ach III es. It's a roman numeral 3, but it really does look like "Achilles." At first I thought it was a neat coincidence, until I realized BR gives the name of her trike as Patroklos. Patroklos was Achilles' pupil and arguably male lover. So I guess Ach really likes her trike, huh?

Short for Achilies, Greek hero from myth.

Yda
Yda/Ida is the Hindu goddess of the hearth, fire, and blessings.
Mt. Yda/Ida in Greek myth, is the birthplace of Zeus
Xehn wrote:I think that theory on Yda would be more applicable if her gear was all Greek, too; instead, it's all Indian (I think...).
Caterwaul wrote:Ida/Yda is the Hindu goddess of the hearth, fire, and blessings. Considering that a lot of her equipment has an Indian base (Aero Chakram, Aero Vajra), and she's from Omestra's Eastern branch, I tend to gravitate to the idea it's based on her, rather then the mountain. Of course, it could be both too :)

ok yda is a complete mistery then... so i have an idea (inspired by xerain's comment about ach)...

what's the name of yda's vehicle and weapons? that can give us a hint about her name....

Yda's name isn't really a mystery, it's spelled out on her leg pretty plainly.

Much like Ach's "ACH111es," Yda has "YDA-010" written on her left wheel/claw. As such, the name derivation is pretty clear.

Idaten is one of many gods originally taken from Hindu mythology, which explains the naming scheme of her weapons.

This isn't to say that the goddess Ida wasn't also taken into account, but Idaten is the primary derivation of her name.
