Maochao touchup paint color

Post by AlexG » Thu Mar 20, 2014 3:38 pm

My Original color Maochao has several spots of paint wear on the goldenrod colored detailing on her body. Nothing too significant, but I would like to touch it up if possible. I was wondering if anyone has found, used, or knows of a good match for this color? I would rather not have to repaint all the detailing to make it look good, so a very close match is imperative. I found a semi-decent color from tamiya but they only make it in spray can, and decanted spray-paint doesn't play nice, so that's out.

Any help would be really appreciated, Thanks!

Testors has a good selection of colors, as does Games Workshop (albeit expensive).

I don't believe Konami ever released a color match guide. Unfortunately, that's what you'd really need to match paint up exactly. You're gonna have to wing it, I'm afraid.

thanks for the tips!

@caterwaul: i assumed there was no official match guide, otherwise it'd probably be on here somewhere. i just wanted to see if anyone had already done the trial and error and saved me the hassle, since paint wear seems to be a pretty common problem.
