I've had these leftover fabrics that I got from my mom lying around for a couple of years now. Finally decided it was time to put them to good use! :) Making this took me about 15-25 minutes, since I was too lazy to take out the sewing machine. It's just a trial version to see how much fabric I need for things like these.

But hey, I thought some of you might be interested anyway! I had fun sewing at least, I hope I can keep this up. Prototype Partio with a prototype dress. :strarf: I could use some criticism, and you can be harsh! I know that I need to do something so it won't look so...box-like? And the edges of the fabric need finishing of course when I do a proper version.

It definitely has to do with how you stitched the main skirt to the body. You'll want to use a less stiff fabric and perhaps pleat it a bit to get a more satisfying look.

Also, it looks like mini pullip clothes fit shinki bodies 'okay', looked into it and found this forum post:

If this is the case, then the Mini Pullip Miku might interest some people: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... 2&page=top

If anyone tries out some mini pullip clothing please let me know =)

anyone know where I can find 2 mini komonos that would be shinki sized like the new fubuki and mizuki book marks, I could try to sew them but I'm not good with small work and I'm awful at sewing silk!
apologies if I've wronged you in the past, I admit in the past I've done some stupid/rude/inappropriate things here, I just want to make right what was wrong in the past, I am sorry

There were the official Yukatas, but the only kimonos I've seen are customs on yahoo japan auctions.

These small clothes are so unforgiving when you think about it, you have to consider things that you normally wouldn't have to worry about too much when making human-sized clothes. But yeah, I see what you mean. I made this on the fly and didn't really think about it when making it, I just wanted to see how hard it would be to make something like that. I'll keep on trying until it's perfect!

And star, I'd stay off silk when making clothes for shinki's. It's just too difficult to work with and too expensive to mess up. I want to make cute yukatas like in those bookmarks too, but that will take time. I've tried out different kinds of prototypes already, but they still need some tweaking. I'd suggest trying out with some cheap fabric that you have on hand, and when you start getting the hang of it and the results are to your liking, then get the fabric you want for the kimonos and sew them! ;)

I think polyester or cotton blend would probably go best. It really is harder, I've never sewn clothes on such a small scale before and every time I try my sewing machine decides to throw a fit. XD; Oh well, I guess it just takes practice..

I've seen books for sewing 1/12 scale clothing, they should be help since that's the approximate size of Busou Shinki figures.
