Tsumanne's Shinki Travels (19 August 2015)

Post by Tsumanne » Sun Nov 30, 2014 6:21 pm

Because of my work I get around a bit. Ever since picking up Lirbiete in Tokyo last year she's come along for the ride to where ever I've wound up. But for reasons beyond me, it never occurred to me until two weeks ago while in the Kingdom of Bahrain that I could have been sneaking in a photo or two with her. Lirbiete promptly moved to my shirt pocket and we went out for a few hasty photos with the phone while killing time before heading to the airport.

So in the future I will try to snap a picture or two of Lirbiete and her... eventual sisters whenever I go somewhere of interest. I'm not the greatest with cameras/phones so ya know (just finally got a smartphone for the first time 2 months ago lol).
Although I think it'd be fun to see other people take pictures of their Shinki in various places too.

Shinki > Selfie

Lirbiete's First Day
My Tokyo Apartment, January 2013

Image
"Masuta~, kyou wa donna ohanashi youkana~"
Hmm, now how do I set her to English mode...
"I, Ima no kuroi katamaritte... Moshikashite... Go, Gokiburiii~!?"
Wait? Did she just say something about a cockroach? Great, another one. The woman down the hall really need to take the trash out.
"Te iu koto wa onnna... Onnna nanda...Sokka... Nda ora~!!! Kocchi koi ya~!!!"
Huh?... Hey, what are you doing!? Stop!
(For the record there really was a cockroach that day. Lirbiete was meant to be.)
PS: if you don't get the cockroach bit, see here lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C80gqd4kr7U

Image
Of course she quickly learned the greatness of Hockey.
"My god they're going to blow the lead and lose in the last two minutes AGAIN!!"

Image
Maybe I'll take her to a game sometime soon.
"They won! They won!"

Kingdom of Bahrain, November 2014

At least it's not so hot this time of year. The last time we were in Bahrain was back in summer... She probably would have melted if I'd taken her outside >.>

Image
"Master, I can read that sign!"
I'm sure you can Lirubi... I'm sure you can...

Untill next time,

I always envy those who can take their various photogenic toys to exotic locations. Ah, maybe one day. Still, as one proud Lirbete master to another, I and my Lira salute you.

Pretty interesting pics you got there. :strarf:

I greatly admire people who take photos of their Shinki (and other toys as well) out in public and in their travels. That's something that I really need to start doing in the upcoming year... get over my fears/doubts about doing photo shoots of my toys out in public instead of sticking to my tried-and-true doing photo shoots at home and/or on my parents' farm.

Nice pic. It is always nice to go around outside with shinkis.

However for those who wants to take their shinkis out, remember some thing....

1. Container to put your girl safe and sound. Nothing more depressing to hear someone got crushed just because there are no place to safely bring them along.

2. Leave the small bits behind. While it is nice and feel complete, if it ever fell, it would be a complete nightmare to get it back in some places....which bring to number 3.

3. Know your destination's condition. Like weather, place, crime, ect ect.

I think I can only remember these three.

Stay safe.

Ron: Hurray for another Lirbiete master! I hope Lira gets along well with the other 8!

LC: Your "tried-and-true" shoots are awesome by the way. I'm going to take Lirubi to a hockey game sometime in the next few months. Will be an interesting experiment since that will be in my home country. Overseas I feel less hesitation to bring her out because, well, I'm already a weird foreigner by default lol

Zeni: Very good points. I follow Rule 2 very strictly. When I travel I usually don't even bring an extra face or hands. It's too easy for something to get lost in the confusion of travel and hasty hotel room packing.

Mikuo: Thank you much!

Tokyo, Japan
Christmas 2014

When they said the hotel was "right next to the train station", they weren't kidding!
At least Lirubi seems to like watching the trains.

Can't wait to try out her miko outfit on New Years!... Do hope it actually fits haha. First time I've gotten her any clothes.

Dang... I don't think I would have wanted to stay at a hotel that was THAT close to a train station. D=

That's a lovely cake, and yay for a carrying case and a miko outfit for Lirubi!

First shot is the most difficult
After that usually your feeling shame about taking picture of dolls in public place is already dead :)

So, seems like there's no White Christmas in Tokyo this year

And I really envy you, travelling to places like that :D

Ok, so I didn't expect to post anything again till after New Years but... I have been unfathomably lucky.
Being in town, I decided to swing by Comic Market (Comiket) to see if I could find any amateur shinki comic artists.
Well... I hit the mother load. There was an entire Shinki fan section!
Rest assured, Shinki fandom is alive and well :schmetterling:

Odaiba, Japan
Comic Market 87

One of two lines to get into Comic Market 87. Each line was over a mile long. The line ends at the building with the upside down pyramids off to the right.

With the TV series finished, It seems Ann and the girls have a traveling shinki music group.

Image
Lirubi lounging with other shinki while I chat with other masters and do some shopping.
It was the first time the Altines had met an English speaking shinki so she was a bit weary.

So true. In fact, I think I'm really taking a liking to this Shinki sightseeing thing.
