Yesterday (September 22) was Jenn's release anniversary. Before I get to describing yesterday's events though, a little flashback to provide some context.

A few weeks ago, after unpacking Jenn's armor.

"Master, which hairstyle do you prefer? This one..."
Image

"...or this one..."
Image

"...or this one?"
"I think you look lovely with either of them."
Image

"MASTER! Make up your mind, please! This is important!"
(This was the only time I've seen Jenn get so worked up. Might be because of all the weapons she was trying out just moments ago.)
Image

In the end we picked this one, her favorite:
Image

She even found a surprising way to sit on the couch and use the charging cradle with her long hair:
Image

Unfortunately she couldn't keep it. Her chest joint was quite loose from the very beginning and long hair made it very difficult for her to keep balance and proper posture. So, reluctantly, she had to switch back to her default short hair...

So yesterday...

"Hey Jenn, I got something for you"
"What is it, Master?"
Image

"A Swimsuit Armor?"
"Yeah. Do you like it?"
"Y-Yes... Thank you, Master."
More importantly, she could have her favorite hairstyle again.
Image

"Well, don't you want to show the others what you got?"
"Can I?"
"Well, of course. Go on..."
Image

"B-But, isn't it immodest?"
"Geez! It's fine, just go."
Image

Naturally, she was shy at first...
Image

...but eventually she relaxed enough to talk.
Image

Which gave me the opportunity to perform maintenance on her main body to try to correct that loose chest joint. (I described what I did in a separate post)

So anyhow...

"Hey Jenn!"
"Yes, Master?"
"I finished the maintenance on your main body. Want to try it?"
Image

"How does it feel? Anything out of place?"
"I don't think so..."
Image

She couldn't believe she got to keep her long hair.
Image

"But... how?"
"Well, someone made a mistake when they assembled your chest. I corrected that mistake."
Image

"My... chest?"
"Yes. Everything will be fine now."
Image

"Thank you, Master!"
"You're welcome. I'm just glad I was actually able to help you. Sorry it took a while."
Image

And that's how our yesterday went.

Is releasing the chest part risky (prone to accident when putting it back) ?

Which chest part? The little "vest" that goes on top or the actual upper body assembly that has all the joints?

Well, it is fairly straightforward but these are all small plastic parts so you'd want to be very careful, not force anything and make sure you have adequate space for this work so that nothing gets lost. A tray might be a good idea.

To disassemble the upper body you need to unscrew 3 screws and then separate 2 plastic halves of the upper body. When you pull these halves apart you need to be very gentle so that they separate slowly and the parts inside don't fly away ;)
If unsure, do this with the body inside a plastic bag.

It might also help to know what the parts look like before you start, so here's some pictures for your reference (they are not mine, I saved them from /toy/ and some Japanese blogs, don't remember which ones):

MMS1 (left) and MMS3 (right) bodies, disassembled:
Image

MMS3 (small) upper body, note the clear insert on the left (provides friction for the the neck and shoulders) and on the right (friction for the chest):
Image

MMS1 upper leg, note the clear insert:

One other thing, typical needle-nosed "micro" screwdrivers do not fit shinki screws correctly and may cause damage. Since these screws are custom and cannot be replaced easily you might want to make sure you have the right screwdriver.

This is what I used, note the shape of the tip:
Image

Having said all of the above, I only attempted repair after I secured a backup body for Jenn, so you can draw your own conclusions about risk ;)

Just checked out your thread, and I love it! Your girls have such interesting personalities, the photos are nice and sharp, and it's really nice to see that they receive lots of goodies from you! :schmetterling:

Hmmm, I should see about trying to fix my Arnval Tempesta's chest so that she can wear her long hair piece, but I'm afraid of messing up. =/

Mana kept pointing out how her battle training is lacking and how her reflexes are going dull, so one day...

Image

"Master, what is this and what is it doing in our training area?"
"You wanted to fight so I made you a sparring partner."
"Oh? I can do battle with it?"
"Well, you will need to limit yourself to hand-to-hand combat, swords or polearms. No firearms or long range attacks. Also, it's been programmed not to damage you, so please don't go all out either."
"Understood."
Image

"Master, is this thing safe for them to be around?"
"Of course, Patricia. It's not even activated right now."
Image

"UNIT-00 SERIAL NUMBER 00131013-001 INITIALIZATION COMPLETE."
The match can now begin.
Image

Spectators are here too, of course.
Image

Mana chose swords for their first match.
Image

Image

She sees an opening and goes for a vulnerable spot...
Image

...but also puts herself in a bad position with barely enough time to block the next strike.
Image

The match continues...
Image

Suddenly...
Image

Uh-oh, looks like someone is in the pinch.
Image

"MANA, HANG IN THERE! WE'RE COMING!"
Jenn and the ninja sisters rush to the rescue.
Image

"Greta, where are our swords?"
"Who knows? It's been like a year..."
Some of my girls are less battle ready than others.
Image

"Please stand down. The situation is well under control. Observe."
Image

"Huh?"
"See? She's fine."
Image

Mana suddenly releases the block, rolls...
Image

...and immediately forces the surrender.
Image

"Thank you for the match, Unit-00. Master, I think the difficulty level was too low. Please increase it for the next match."
