I totally understand you. The thing is, if you make smth. that can not be useful in real life, they think, you just spend your time and claims you silly. Especially if you make such childish stuff as bears or dolls. It does not metter, how cute and well made they are. "Just a doll, - they say. - Anybody can do it. Peace of cake!"
My friend makes dolls. And I saw all her way from ugly humpty-dumpties to really cute and interesting dolls. And I can say - it is not easy at all.
I really admire people, who can create. Anything.

Me too. But new shinky I want more. XDD

chya, definitely appreciate the works of art. I tried to make molds and casts from them. and boy oh boy do i run into problems.
Tried to do more intricate molds to soon. it all might look easy, until you know the time and effort that people have to put into any such type of art.

That is why I try not to make OOAKs and repaints not to spoil the thing. As I know it is not so easy as it looks like from the first sight.

Of course we have world famous doll-makers as Marina Bychkova o Popovy sisters, whose doll cost as much as a Boeing XDD, but if you are just an ordinary student or a manager, and dolls are only a hobby, you have not so many ways out.
That's really a shame about the lack of opportunities for doll-makers in Russia, especially ones like your friend who seems to me has some great potential. :*(

My new ones. Really I should already change my shinki-picture and add the latest girls. ^_^
The guitar name is Rueh, and the dog is Dot.

Cute pics of Dot!

Man, I wish I could make my Dengeki Hao Ling look cute, but... mine's as crabby as Lucy from Charles Schulz's Peanuts and always seem to find something to complain or be picky about. =/

At last I have time to share some new pics of mine. This weekend I took Mao and Dot to the picnic.
