They've been doing that since...I think the Mk2s came out? Mostly because the Battle Rondo website is no longer updating its character info, I suspect.

Unfortunately, this leaves us non-Japanese speakers without a clue. Cant even parse them through google languages this way.

The two of you could try it the same way I'm translating some stuff from BR, with the IME-Pad input (if you're running Windows):
First, you need to install Japanese (under "Regions and languages", then there's "Add keyboard/language" or something, choose "Japanese" and "Microsoft IME")
Then, when opening e.g. the editor, you can change the language to Japanese, which should bring up some additional icons on your taskbar, one of them being the "IME Pad". If you click on it, a new window will open up in which you can use the mouse to draw the kanji.

This will sometimes turn out a bit difficult, as it is also important in which order you draw the strokes and how many strokes you use etc. But after some trying you'll probably figure out some stuff. Then it will show you suggested kanji on the right side, you can click on it and it inserts that kanji in the editor. If the kanji you want is not suggested, clear the field and try again (for some complicated kanji I tried it a dozen times :P )
Image

Also, there's a function that lets you search the radicals (elements) of a kanji, so e.g. you see the kanji contains a "P"-like shape (尸), you can look it up and it shows you a lot of kanji that contain this element:

However, if you try THIS approach, I also recommend this website:
http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi- ... dic.cgi?1R
You can check multiple elements and it will find all kanji that contain all of the checked elements. Again, this can be difficult sometimes, as for example 尸 and 戸
are different elements.
(Useful for the IME handwriting input: if the website finds the kanji, you can click on SOD or SODA in the description and it shows you how it's written/the order of strokes):
Image

Before doing any copy/paste in the editor, press "enter" once to get rid of the underlining, then you can copy all your precious kanji and paste it into Google Translate and you're set! (if you don't press enter, it may re-arrange the text and mess up the order of the kanji when you try to copy/paste it)

It's all a bit much, but just try it out, google "Japanese IME Pad" and there should be plenty of instructions. It's kind of fun, actually ...
