Thanks to a certain someone I acquired my first Shinki. Sadly, she was sitting on the store shelves for many moons without anybody acquiring her for whatever reason. Nobody wanted to buy her, acquire her for collection, or get her for customization purposes. Ah well, I get my first Shinki ^^.

Shes a nice figure and a bit complex with the amount of parts. Shall take better quality images in the near future as I get around to collecting Renge, Kohiru, Figma BRS and maybe Luka. I'll get her armor and poses right the second and third time around if you're worried about the quality.

Probably because she is not a popular choice due to her many flaws. And def not the best choice as a first of the brand. (And many , like me , would think she looks just plain ugly)

Flaws? Such as? She might be an aged figure but I haven't regretted the purchase heh. I'm thinking of painting her armor as it looks "ancient". Just wondering how to do so without causing any unnecessary damage.

If you don't like the way she is then you can always customize her with other Shinki's or various other parts?

Benio? Ugly? Not even in the slightest . She's simply "ancient" in Shinki production standards? Thats all.

Sidenote: Also getting a second Shinki. Should be on her way pretty soon ^^. Also edited first post with some review links of mine. Hope you guys and gals like 'em!

Well, lots of people have noted problems with her armor (as well as Xiphos's) being rather 'fragile', in that it pops off quite often, though this seems to be limited to the shoulders.

Another "flaw" is merely an aesthetic problem: This pair features... odd head sculpts; larger noses, badly sculpted hair...

Not to mention Benio being unable to sheath her swords; she cheats with spare sets of empty and full sheaths...

Benio 'suffers' the worst of the pair... like the nonsensical RANDOM BLUE THIGH ARMOR.

I can ignore the minor issues as it's a "wave 3" figure. The armor is a pain, granted. Thats typicals of any figure though as I had power ranger (old gen) types as well. I'll take you up on the sheath and thigh armor problem as I found that just a bit weird.

Solution:
-> Steal another figure's katana sheath and modify it for Benio's use.
-> Blue Thigh: paint it black and add whatever detailing you desire
-> Armor: Paint it any shade of red and add fine detailing to it.

Even if its late, I wish they would of added a loose hair add-on to her. Thats my only gripe with her.

the biggest issues are "omg not anime enough", basically. =\ so eh. It's more opinion than fact, even if it's a widespread one. I still wanna track down a Xiphos.

I believe Benio and Xiphos deserve an updated re-issue, much like Ach/Yda are getting. Problem is due to popularity I'm not so sure they'd actually get the re-issue they deserve. I do like the customs and yeah looking at how they're much older the flaws are tolerable. In-game they both rock.

I still like my Xiphos and Benio. Though Benio's being body snatched for now XD

Yes, now that I found a hobby store she should be painted by around early September. Well, thats if things go the way as I planned it heh. Shall simply paint her red and white in a Canadian theme and remove the gold from her wear to white. Not really painting her, just her armor.
