Re: ZeroEdge's Stuff
After filling the voids with putty and spray painting, here's what I have...
I'm having trouble with the chest armor (00's upper torso is almost twice the width of a shinki's), so that'll be for later.

Hmm, the handle seems to suffer a bit from being filed. Maybe you could carve the design back in or something.

Thanks for the great tutorial! I'm going to try it out this weekend.

Re: ZeroEdge's Stuff
I'm planning on doing that, but might just stick to a simple design or no design at all >_<. I had just finished reducing the hilt's thickness when I took the pic. I'm also replacing the blade on GN Sword II Blaster (the one that came with Gundam 00 Seven Sword/G) to make it... well... bigger.blade_anime wrote:Hmm, the handle seems to suffer a bit from being filed. You're welcome! I'm just glad somebody found my posts useful.cyclenut wrote:Thanks for the great tutorial! I'm going to try it out this weekend.

Re: ZeroEdge's Stuff
... And I was able to get around to finishing Noir's chest armor.
Here we have the Strarf alt chest piece, and two parts from Gundam 00's front torso. I cut out the middle part, and trimmed it down to the shape that I wanted.
The tree pieces are then combined and shaped with the use of epoxy putty.
After spray-painting... the white parts, GN Drives included, I painted gray to match the rest of the armor's color theme.
================================================================================
Here's the finished Black 00 Armor set for Noir.
I really like how this project turned out. The chest armor took some time to plan and build but it was well worth it. Now, I guess even Yoshika would have a bit of trouble groping Noir's chest through that armor. >_<

Re: ZeroEdge's Stuff
Nice! That chest piece looks real clean!
I'll have to do something similar on my arnval, but i'll have to use her normal chest piece instead.
Great work!

Re: ZeroEdge's Stuff
Thanks! I was actually nervous making it, 'cause I was afraid of botching the project and ruining the chest piece, but as luck would have it, it went well.cyclenut wrote:Nice! That chest piece looks real clean!

I've been planning on building a light-armor design for Espadia, 'cause... let's face it, full-armor shinkis can be difficult to play with, with all the parts that can come off at random. So, I looked at my gunpla scrapyard and found some nifty legs from... a KO FG (First Grade) Blitz Gundam, of all things. FG's are those bricks that aren't poseable and have no elbow and knee joints, but they can be useful as spare parts.
I've already painted 'em white, gonna add blue and details later. What happened to the rest of the FG Blitz? The fencers thought of tinkering with what was left of it...
BTW, I was kinda lucky that when I tried fitting the legs to Espadia, they fit snugly and perfectly, without the need for internal mods! So this might be easier than my earlier leg armor works, excluding Noir's which was by far the easiest.

Here's Espadia's new legs.
Light armor setup and accessories will follow... then, it's Lancamento's turn.

Re: ZeroEdge's Stuff
Espadia's light armor set is done.
A nice contrast compared to her full armor mode, no?
In case you're wondering, both side skirts and sword are from a 1:144 Throne Zwei.
