cant really say, Point Battle events have very strict rules, in this case only shinkis above lvl 10 are allowed, but there have been PB events where only succubus types have been allowed and so on... each PB event has different rules so it's hard to say
your shinki still gets points if she lose but is not much...
but when she wins the event, she wins LOTS of points, enough to use them on that upgrade shop (that i never tried... even if my arnval won one of those events once...)
Sorry, just went through the wiki to double check, and apparently there is an update to the rule.
Your Shinki will now lose point only if she loses the battle when her opponent has over 80% LP left.
Each battle has +100 bp (battle point) as the basic.
A win will add +100 bp.
A win with over 80% LP left will add +100 bp.
A lost with opponent having over 80% LP left will minus -200 bp.
A win with the opponent having higher level then your Shinki will add +1 bp per level difference.
Concurrent winning add +20 bp. (Is this +20, +40, +60 then +80... Or is this just +20, +20, +20...??)
Oh no no no...
Your Shinki WILL LOSE POINT (but not to negative) if she lose a battle in that "cup".
Basically speaking, each "cup" in point battle is an official PVP tournament that formulated under specify rules. (I gonna skip the detail here, but there is another thread that discuss PB a bit more.) Each "cup" also gives different rewards - some of them in the middle of the tournament such as title (once you get enough battle point), some of them in the end of the tournament such as item (base on Shinki's end of tournament standing).
573's matching policy (since when I forgot - kinda not new anymore...?) is that two Shinkis' levels are close to each other will have higher priority, and two Shinki who had battled will try to avoid concurrently battle again (no double post... uh, battle).
However, due to the volume of players at times, the above two rules may not apply...
...In other word, be prepared if you entered the PB with Lv10 Shinki and face some Lv150 monster. (Or even, if you entered the no limit class -- Lv330 super monster...)
But still, it's really fun if you are not aiming for the rewards. (Really frustrated if you are - but then again, it's a PVP afterall, do enjoy the trill.)
With the new rule in place, I think chance of getting rewards is higher (by a lot), so, why the hell not?

I may be speaking too early (once again), but I really like the new "5 battles per day" rule.
