yep, back in 1995, an arcade game was released for the SEGA model 2 Arcade platform, it proved to be a fun and enjoyable game of mech vs mech combat. What was unique about this game is that it utilized the "Twinstick" style control setting, where a player would interact with their select Virtuaroid using only two joysticks and four buttons (a 5th if you count pause). The SEGA Saturn version of the game enabled the use of the unique preferal. the game was later released only in japan for Playstation 2. That version had graphics comparable to the Arcade version and a few unique modes. Such as Assaut mode that only allowed players to use melee attacks.
It's most recent illiteration is Virtual ON MARZ for Playstation 2 in 2004, based on the hit arcade game Virtual ON Force. Unfortunatly, it didn't sell as good as it did. Virtual ON Force was unique for having a pilot licence system, and two-on-two battles. MARZ has a story mode that allowed the player to take on the role of a rookie lawman and bring order to the Sol system.
And also: Virtual ON Oratorio Tangram is available on XBox Live Arcade. Released back in 1999 for one of the best consoles at the time: The SEGA Dreamcast. It brought New stages that the origonal Arcade release didn't possess. Widely known as the best of the Virtual ON Franchise. Known for it's very fast combat and steep learning curve, along with new features like Turbo Attacks and special abillites for each Virtuaroid, such as Raiden's "Armor Break".
