MicroVolts is out
It's an arena shooter inspired by stopmotion videos.
It's F2P, but it's freemium and pay2win, of course ¬¬
I'm torn between playing with a figma/Shinki or a stikfas

Re: MicroVolts is out
It's a cute little shooter, but honestly it just doesn't have anything gameplay-wise to distinguish it from all the other shooters on the market. It's more polished than I would expect from a smaller company, but it just doesn't have the same sort of quality that larger-name companies can put out. Also, pay2win never results in a successful game in the long run.

It's free and you play with figures we collect, so I think it's worth a look, at least at the customization feature XD

Re: MicroVolts is out
Just for the record, I did download and play the game for a few hours. "Free" is pretty much standard for the industry these days; many big-name companies are releasing high-quality games with a microtransaction business model. Really, the only draw is the idea of playing as toys, but with only four figures and a moderate at best level of customization, I can't justify investing time in it. Maybe if or when they add more content, but as it is now it's not worth that much time. I don't mean to come across as rude, dismissive, or snobbish, but that's my honest opinion.

Yes.
The free game is an unlimited demo at best, as most F2P games are.

Re: MicroVolts is out
That first question is a bit hard to answer. In theory and technicality, it's completely free to play, but players can spend real-life money to buy in-game items, some of which can only be bought with real money. In MicroVolts, like most games of its type, those cash-only items are more powerful to some degree than the items one can earn with in-game currencies. The industry term for this is a microtransaction business model, while the common term on the internet is "free2play, pay2win." It varies from game to game how much advantage the cash-only items give, and some games (generally the larger-name ones) explicitly offer no advantage to paying players, limiting cash purchases to pre-existing items and ascetics only. MicroVolts is not one of those; specifically, in it each gun has an "advanced" version that's gold, has somewhat better stats, and can only be bought with real-life money. The stat advantages don't look too out-of-hand, so in theory a skilled player could use normal items and still do well, but against an equally-skilled player, the free player will lose. Honestly, though, it's not too bad; I've seen much worse, but I'm very much against the principle of the system.star wrote:so it costs money and it's only a shooting game?

No. The closest you can get is what's essentially a Figma in normal clothes.star wrote:so can you play as an armored shinki?
