Re: Flight Sim X
All that drama and garbage caused by someone stirring me up, I'm putting that aside. More FSX images! First off however - CF-18 with 2011 Canadian North Paint scheme
Wings Over Gatineau - 07 by SubTrance, on Flickr
Air Canada - 767-300 - ACA839 by SubTrance, on Flickr
Antonov 124 by SubTrance, on Flickr
--------
And now the FSX images from 2011. Was just messing around with flight and such and love the 737 plane I had added.
FSX - KLM @ Vladivostock by SubTrance, on Flickr
FSX - 737 @ Narita by SubTrance, on Flickr

I got more but just cleaning up the Flight path first.

X-Plane 10
X-Plane 10
Days ago I just recently bought a new flight simulator, X-Plane 10. Just a brief history lesson, X-Plane was created by Austin Meyers back in 1993. It was only on the Apple Macintosh at the time, and only one plane was selectable: The Piper Archer. 18 years later comes the most recent installment of X-Plane.

Pictured above the is Global edition (which comes with the Global Scenery expansion). 8 discs at a total of 75GB worth of content (the scenery itself is 59.6GB of content).

Bombardier/Canadair CL-415 taking of from Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International. Note: Only a select few amount of airports on here have buildings, so you'll need to grab scenery packs to add buildings for airports that don't.

What I like about X-Plane. Roads are detailed and rendered in 3D, also, railroads are rendered. Along the list also are: power lines, animals, etc.
SR-71 over Texas by Nascar241993, on Flickr
SR-71 Blackbird, such a beautiful plane.
Note: All of these pictures are of me flying.
Anyway, the total cost of buying the game came down to $79.73USD (the game plus shipping). But overall, it was worth it.

This video could have the potential to bring tears to my eyes, because it's too beautiful! Witness how the flight simulator series changed so much ever since Bruce Artwick of subLOGIC released a demo in 1979, which would eventually become subLOGIC Flight Simulator the following year, to Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Acceleration expansion pack.

Re: [Flight Sim] - Flight Sim X & X-Plane
-nascar241993: Thanks! Regarding X-plane 10. Does it come with an Airbus Aircraft.. say an A320? Anyway, nice HOTAS you got there.

Quick BVR Fight F-15C or should've been J.. (ME) vs Su-27SK
I'll admit I'm a noob who uses labels but I'm not flying for an online Squad so I guess it's okay.. I just want to enjoy myself.. Invulnerability is even on...

Re: [Flight Sim] - Flight Sim X & X-Plane
@Pauldy, You're welcome! And thanks! I really like the Saitek X52 Pro, comes with a cheap price too (about $166USD)!
Also, X-Plane 10 doesn't come with Airbus' by default. Though, add-ons do exist for X-Plane 10, and if you're skilled enough, you can use the integrated Plane Maker program that comes included with it.
Anyway, more pictures:

Ice on the runway and tarmac of Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International has forced me to remain grounded.
*** AIR REFUELING ***
Yes, X-Plane 10 comes with the ability to refuel in mid-air. In this case, I'm using one of the few pre-programmed aircraft situations. The plane I'm flying is a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, the tanker is a McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender.

Re: [Flight Sim] - Flight Sim X & X-Plane
It's fine Pauldy, share anything aviation and think of the planes. Alright, time to share some images from both the past and recent.
------
- FSX:
This is how Ottawa should look, and how I expect it to look in X-Plane. Sadly, none was added so I'm hoping someone at least creates something of similar awesomeness and detail.
---
- Vancouver Int during:
- Shinden - My favorite plane made by Tim "Piglet" Conrad. Probably hates me for "pirating" it to other people. It isn't payware and it needs to be shared!
- Shinden landing in Aomori, Japan during a snowfall/storm.
- Raiden shooting (non-lethal) ammo:
- Beijing Airport looking awesome (add-on scenery):
-------
- 737 Dreamliner at Vladivostock(?)
- Plane was on runway so I had to abort:
- Found a nice CF-18 via torrent and had to give it a custom sound-pack. I just can't pay for something that feels like freeware while having to give it a sound-pack. It is a beautiful plane however which deserves respect, just not in the form of money.
- Flying over a Quebec military base somewhere.
---
- Was at a Gatineau Airport airshow in September so I added an add-on in hype.
- Was doing a flight with Leed Bradford Virtual Air and came across a thunderstorm patch a bit outside London.
- Using a CRJ at Amsterdamn - Schiphol Airport. Northwest Airline is in view:
----
- Ottawa was recently covered in fog, something like Monday or so before this post.
------
My batch of images. If I need to resize just let me know.

This time you can notice the water waves that appear on the runway during rain and snow.

I made 3 attempts at trying to make carrier landings while getting pictures. All these attempts were done in an F-4 Phantom II while in cockpit view. I can make the landing in Forward With HUD view.

Note: This one took a bit longer, had to reposition because the carrier turned to the right. It was approaching the surface so it had to adjust position.
