Yeah, not sure what happened there. Bay was able to get the Audi R8 for the movie, but Hasbro didn't get the licensing for the toy? Seems kinda strange. Yet I was just happy to find him this weekend.

I think Audi is one of those companies that doesn't want to be associated with 'war machines', which apparently include giant robots from other worlds, locked in a million year civil w-ah. That explains it.

But, yeah. German companies are touchy about that sort of thing.

Ah, the old Volkswagon argument. LOL

Of course the licensing for the film and licensing for the toys are handled differently. I suspect Hasbro didn't seek a license from Audi. Hence why it looks close enough to the R8 without technically being an R8.

I like him well enough. Reminds me of the Universe 2.0 line. While the style is in keeping with the first Movie-verse line, the overall quality seems a little better.
